Bowie prospects heating up

There are plenty of prospects on the 2008 radar at Arlington (Texas) Bowie High School.
Coach Kenny Perry says that plenty of his guys should be getting a lot of looks after spring football comes to a close. One of those, wide receiver Roddy Maginot, is already on the board with verbal scholarship offers from the likes Kansas and Rice. Tulsa and SMU are also close according to Perry.

"Maginot is one of the best receivers I've ever had," Perry said. "He runs good routes and can really fly. He's going to be a big time kid."
Perry also added that running back prospect Marcus McGraw will line up as a linebacker after totaling more than 130 tackles last year as a junior. Running back Jeremy Davis is also someone that with hard work in the classroom will continue to stack up the interest.
"He's the real deal," Perry said about Davis. "He's just got some academic work to take care of."
Accorindg to Perry, the other prospect that may get the same caliber attention that Maginot has received is cornerback Kip Edwards.
"Edwards is exactly what people are looking for," Perry said. "He's hearing from Arkansas, Houston, Oklahoma State, Washington State, Texas A&M, and Baylor. Arkansas has shown that they really, really want him."
"He's a 6-1 corner that can run and jump. I just don't see him being out there (without offers) for very long."
Other prospects that Perry says are getting looks include Quinnin Criss who will get a move to defensive tackle this fall. Defensive end Eric Mebane is also filling out his 6-foot-4 frame and has great athleticism according to his coach.
