Bowers sticking with decision

Ross Bowers has been committed to Cal since early July but Penn State has continued to recruit him and show pretty serious interest in the last few months.
Now that four-star quarterback Brandon Wimbush has flipped from Penn State to Notre Dame there is an opening with the Nittany Lions but the Bothell, Wash., three-star recruit said he's not interested.

Bowers, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect, said everything felt right with the Golden Bears and his commitment to them is definitely firm. He's not going to even consider other options moving forward in his recruitment.
"I'm only seeing gold and blue," Bowers said.
"It's the right fit for me. I want to live there, play for them and academically it's the best place I could possibly go. I see them doing well this season."
The Bothell standout had other Pac-12 offers and many other programs were interested but he picked Cal this summer and he is not looking back.
According to Bowers, he even politely told the Penn State coaching staff to consider other options because he was sold on the Golden Bears. The Nittany Lions are now looking for another quarterback but it doesn't sound like they have any chance landing Bowers.
"I just hear from everyone, 'Oh wow, great choice,' and I remember the same people not saying that before the season started because of the 1-win season," Bowers said.
"I saw the direction they're headed in and I just want to hop on board and hopefully steer the ship one day."
