Bowers closes in on decision

Columbus (Ohio) Walnut Ridge defensive end Robert Bowers has had the same school atop his list for the last couple months, and now the three-star prospect is moving closer to a commitment.
"I have my choice in my head, am going to talk it over with my family again, go up there at least one more time and then go visit a couple other schools," Bowers said. "Then I will make my decision… hopefully before school starts."

The school standing out in Bowers' mind is Michigan State, and he already has his next visit to East Lansing scheduled.
"I am supposed to be going there this Saturday with my cousin," Bowers said. "Next Wednesday I am supposed to go up there again."
Visits with other schools are also being planned. He is looking at stopping through Purdue when he makes the second visit to East Lansing next week, and is also working on a trip to Louisville.
"I am supposed to go to Louisville in two weeks, but I'm not for sure on that [visit] yet," Bowers said. "I know for sure Michigan State on Saturday and next week."
Bowers has only made one previous visit to Michigan State, and that was for a practice back in the spring. That experience helped boost the Spartans to the top of his list.
"I felt at home when I was there," Bowers said. "That really got me like, 'I want to go there.'
"Everything is right around the corner, close to each other. They don't have a lot of d-ends either, so I feel if I go there and show off in front of the coaches I could take somebody's spot. The coaches seem cool and seem like I could be able to work with them."
If Bowers does make visits past those he has planned now, Pitt and West Virginia are still two schools he would like to see. Whether his recruitment gets that far, though, remains to be seen.
