Bowen eyes preseason decision

Trophy Club (Texas) Byron Nelson Rivals100 defensive end Brandon Bowen was quick to standout at the Texas State 7-on-7 Championships. At 6-foot-5 and 230-pounds he spent his time working at receiver where he flashed the athleticism that has made him one of the most highly coveted prospects in the 2016 recruiting class.
Bowen has taken his time with the recruiting process as offers from across the country have been placed on the table.

"I'm still pretty wide open and looking at my choices," Bowen said. "I haven't gotten out to look at all the other schools but I'm just wide open and having fun with it."
He may be wide open right now, but he does plan to narrow his focus soon.
"I want to make a decision before football season starts up, so I should be ready by then," Bowen said.
He has not named any favorites or leaders, but he does have a few college programs who are recruiting him harder than the rest.
"OU, Texas, TCU, Baylor really hard, and OSU really hard," Bowen said.
There is plenty to like about each of the five programs.
"Baylor, they're just a hype up, go get it (program)," Bowen said. "That's what I like about them. It's a good atmosphere. OSU, it's like a family. All of them are family-like, but they really push family. OU, they're really strong with their facilities and pushing the kids and stuff. And Texas, Charlie Strong is a good man with the defense."
Bowen is currently ranked No. 50 in the Rivals100, No. 3 among the nation's 2016 weakside defensive ends, and No. 6 in the Rivals.com Texas Spring Top 100.
