Bosa happy to be a Buckeye

Nick Bosa's commitment to Ohio State surprised exactly nobody. It was never a matter of if the five-star defensive lineman would make things official with the Buckeyes. Rather, it was only a matter of when.

Turns out, the answer to that question was Thursday afternoon.
"Coach (Urban) Meyer was just happy when I told him," Bosa said. "It was nothing interesting, though. I'm sure he expected it. A lot of people expected it. He was more releived than anything else. My mom freaked out and was super excited, but the coaches were just happy."
And with that, Bosa made the pledge to join his brother Joey on the Buckeyes' roster. The family ties are obvious and a major reason for the decision. That's said, the Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas star's college choice was about more than following his older brother.
"All the important things I was looking for were there at Ohio State," Bosa said. "When I took other visits, I saw some things that were better about other schools, but those things weren't important to me. (The coaches) at Ohio State were the best people I could surround myself with and they had every important thing I wanted."
Bosa will likely remain at defensive end as a freshman in Ohio State's system. He hopes to play early for the Buckeyes and says he's been told he'll have the chance to do just that. According to Bosa, he's been told his role in the defense will be dynamic.
"They want to use me like they use my brother," Bosa said. "The showed me the scheme they run for him. That's scheme is gonna give me a lot of opportunity to make plays."
Rivals.com ranks Bosa as the No. 2 strongside defensive end and the No. 17 overall prospect in the 2016 class. His brother Joey was a Unanimous All-American as a sophomore a year ago and helped Ohio State capture the 2015 national title.
