Boone picks the Red Raiders

Texas Tech has done it again, landing its second wide receiver prospect from the state of Florida. This time is was Ocala four-star standout Kadron Boone.
"I have gotten along with them just great since day one," Boone said. "Texas Tech made me feel like I was part of their family. And I am not going there because they said I could be the next Michael Crabtree. They didn't sell me on that at all. They wanted someone that's talented and hungry and that wants to win. That's me. I love the guy that recruited me, coach (Lincoln) Riley and he will also be my position coach. He had my attention since day one and our relationship got stronger and stronger.

"And I would be lying if I said that I wasn't excited to play in that offense. It fits my style of play. I mean I fit in perfectly. The numbers they have put up are just crazy, When I started watching them play I was like are you serious? They really grabbed my attention. I am so excited. I can't wait."
Boone has put up big numbers for Trinity Catholic. Last season alone he caught 57 passes for over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns. Now, he will join another productive receiver from the Sunshine State in Lubbock in Shawn Corker from south Florida.
"I have been staying in touch with Shawn for a while now. He's a cool guy. Shawn's never pressured me and he knew I liked Texas Tech. He's already been out to Texas Tech and told me all about them and things that he liked. So, we are excited to be playing together there."
Boone will make his official visit to the Red Raiders on September 4th. Will that be his first and last official visit?
"I am looking forward to visiting Texas Tech, seeing the facilities and meeting the coaches. I still plan on visiting some other schools. The Tech coaches are okay with that. They said they also want me to make sure that Texas Tech is the place for me. Right now it looks like I will visit Georgia, Miami and Oklahoma."
