Books or football for Minnesota star

Eagan (Minn.) Academy of Holy Angles strongside defensive end/inside linebacker Rob Tennyson has a tough decision ahead of himself. With an amazing 32 on the ACT and a football resume that is also impressive, he must decide if he wants to pursue and academic career or continue playing football.
"The main teams I'm looking at right now are Army, Air Force, Harvard and Yale," Tennyson said.

"I either want to go to an Ivy League school or a military academy. I haven't decided which I want to do yet. I got sponsored by Harvard and Yale so my application will get accepted if I apply there. I have everything in line with Army, too."
He did camp this summer at Boston College and at Wisconsin. At BC they had him playing running back and linebacker, and he got to also spend some time working out with the coaches from Yale at the camp. He was mainly working on the defensive line when he was at Wisconsin, and he was impressed with how he did.
"I felt like I matched up real well with (the others)," Tennyson, who is 6-foot-1 and 253 pounds, said.
"I feel like I will be a better defensive end at the next level. My movement is better in short agility rather than straight speed and that would help me more at defensive end than it would at running back or linebacker."
When it comes to a decision, he said both football and academics will be important.
"I want to take a look at the football facilities at each of these schools," Tennyson said. "The weight room, the academics, and the campus life. For Harvard and Yale, financial aid is important to me since I won't be on scholarship there. Basically, it's down to whether I want to go to a military academy or just focus on the educational aspect."
Tennyson is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 12 player in the state of Minnesota.
