Booker hitting the books

If two star offensive lineman John Booker (6-4, 320, 5.1) from Hayward, Calif., has his academics in order, he would be one of the most sought after behemoths on the west coast. The good news is Booker has really picked it up in the classroom.
Booker is currently carrying a 3.3 GPA for this semester and giving a tremendous effort academically.

D-I schools are still keeping tabs on what Booker is up to as a matter of fact he has received phone calls from Cal, Oregon State, Utah and San Jose State.
Cal has showed a lot of interest and if the grades come together look for the Bears to make a bull run for Booker’s services.
Other schools that are waiting to see what is going to happen with Booker’s grades are Kansas, BYU, Hawaii, Fresno State and Boise State.
While Booker’s academics may be in doubt his intelligence and ability as a football player is not.
Booker is a terrific offensive lineman who can play weak side or strong side tackle. He’s an excellent technician on both the passing and run blocking disciplines.
“John is a very intelligent football player,” Hayward head coach Casey Moreno said in an earlier interview with Rivals.com. “Instead of our center calling the blocking schemes, John could.”
“John asks the right questions,” Moreno said. “When I need to know what’s going on out there on the field during a game, I ask John. When you talk to John it is like talking to a coach. He has a great knowledge for the game and has an advanced knowledge of both offensive and defensive schemes.”
Booker is an outstanding young who has all the intangibles to be a good one on the next level.
