Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County athlete LaMarcus Bond took his second official visit of the season this past weekend to East Carolina. What did the 5-foot-8, 174-pounder with 4.4-second speed think of the Pirates?
"It was an alright visit, I had fun and got to meet the coaches and players," he said. "I got there on Friday and went to a banquet. Then on Saturday they showed me around the facilities which are really nice. We also checked out the field, school and academics and all that stuff.
"My host on the trip was Wendell Chavis. He was great because he went to my school and we had a great relationship. I asked him a lot of questions and he gave me good information about ECU's program and the school."
On Sunday, the three-star prospect met with coach Holtz.
"That was great because he's such a wonderful guy," he said. "He mostly talked to me about the academic program and how they are getting the program back up. It was just a real good conversation."
Bond rated his trip to East Carolina an eight.
"It was good and I liked it," he said. "It was pretty much just like my trip to North Carolina State, there wasn't too much of a difference and I had a good time."
In three weeks on January 27th, the No. 9 player in North Carolina takes his third and final official visit to Virginia.
"There isn't really anything I'm looking to see on the trip," he said. "I'm wide open going into it and I just want to enjoy myself and have fun."
Bond confirmed he plans to still decide on Signing Day.
