Bomar still a wanted man

Sometimes an injury can mean a player is damaged goods in some coaches' opions, but that's not the case for Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods linebacker Maalik Bomar.
The 6-foot-1, 187-pounder still clocks at 4.5-seconds in the 40-yard dash and is fully recovered.

"I was limited last year because of an injury," Bomar said. "It was just a little torn cartilage. Its fine."
Fine enough that Bomar is looking to do even more damage for Winton Woods in 2008.
"I hope to play a lot more on offense as a receiver," he said. "I am a versatile player, and I like playing wide receiver."
But make no mistake about it, Bomar wants to play defense in college.
"I would rather play linebacker than say safety," he said. "They are pretty much the same but linebackers are more open to contact. I would still be open to playing safety if that is where they want me to play."
After picking up offers from Marshall, Toledo, Miami of Ohio, Akron, Cincinnati, Nebraska, Wisconsin and West Virginia, Bomar said he's still pretty open to all teams. He hopes this summer to further check out both Tennessee and Cincinnati, and it looks like at least one of those teams are in his top group.
"I am very interested in Cincinnati," he said. "(Cincinnati) are in my top three for sure."
Who else comprises his top three? Bomar said everybody will just have to wait and see to find out.
