Bolden picks the Trojans

Damuzhea Bolden landed his dream offer during the season and, despite being more than a year away from his National Signing Day, decided he didn't have to wait any longer.
The four-star safety from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman committed to USC on Monday night, picking the Trojans over several other scholarship offers, including Arizona State, Oklahoma State and UCLA. Bolden became the third commitment in USC's 2017 recruiting class, joining four-stars Stephen Carr and Thomas Graham.

IN HIS WORDS: "I talked to my parents earlier about going to USC and it was a good fit for me," Bolden told Rivals.com. "The environment up there is just amazing, and I just fell in love with the place. It was a dream come true when I got that offer.
"I haven't talked to them about the next DB coach. I've talked to coach (Peter) Sirmon and they are getting everything ready for what's to come. They are going to get a new defensive coordinator and DB coach in January, but it doesn't really matter for me who they get. I just know I want to go to USC no matter what.
"I talked to Alex Perry earlier today and though we still want to play together, no matter where we go we're going to be brothers. We still want to play together and right now he's with ASU still, but I'm sure everything will work out in the end."
RIVALS' REACTION: A long and lean safety, Bolden is one of the top defensive backs in the West for the 2017 class. He has the skill set to cover slot receivers and keep up with them through routes, but also the hard-hitting ability that made him such a force for Gorman in its undefeated season. Perry is another highly regarded cornerback in that secondary and it should be interesting to track how their recruitments shape up down the road. For now, the Trojans are getting a nice piece for their next class.
