Bolden patiently waiting for offers

Ask Brunswick, Ga., coach Victor Floyd about Willie Bolden and he'll tell you it's only a matter of time before his standout junior safety lands his first scholarship offer.
"He's tall, he has a very long frame and is athletic," Floyd said. "And, he has a ton of upside."

Thus far, Bolden is hearing from Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee, N.C. State, USF and Wake Forest. N.C. State coach Tom O'Brien dropped by the school earlier this year.
"N.C. State and USF both invited me [for unofficial visits]," Bolden said. "They're just starting up spring ball, and I plan on going there and visiting."
Before last season, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Bolden split time between quarterback and defensive back. But now, he's a full-time defender.
"As a sophomore, I played quarterback," Bolden said. "I was No. 2. I also played defense and started. I moved [to defense solely] my junior year in the spring. I sat down and talked to Coach Floyd about it. Basically, I thought I could be a big impact on the defensive side of the ball. I wanted to be out there."
Bolden doesn't regret making the change. He thinks it was good for his future.
"I was all-region [last season]," he said. "This is the position I want to play in college. I have the right size and height for most Division I schools. And that's my dream, to play Division I."
Despite not having any offers yet, Bolden isn't worried.
"I'm anxious for it," Bolden said. "But good things come to people that wait. I'll just sit around and keep working hard. I really won't find anything out until summer, when I start going to one-day camps. Hopefully, I can go there and show coaches I'm talented enough."
