Bolden is headed to the desert

It was an exciting last couple of weeks for Ontario (Calif.) Colony defensive back Omar Bolden. After narrowing things down to Arizona State and Oregon State, Bolden got the offer he was waiting for from local favorite USC. After mulling things over, the talented defensive back announced moments ago he'll be a Sun Devil.
We caught up with Bolden's recruiting advisor John Brown who told us the reasons why the Sun Devils were the victors.

"Omar has always liked ASU," Brown said. "They weren't his childhood favorite like USC but he has actually liked them for awhile, ever since seeing some article in Sports Illustrated awhile back.
"For starters, he loved the new staff at ASU. Coach Erickson is an NFL coach who has won a couple of national titles and has won everywhere he has been. Omar also liked Al Simmons a lot, his position coach and felt like he's the kind of coach who can get the most out of his ability.
"He had a great trip to ASU and liked the fact that the school has a city feel to it and it's close to home. His mom also liked ASU a lot. ASU was the one school who came and talked to his mom on a home visit. Omar's parents aren't together and a lot of the coaches talked to his dad but ASU made a point to visit his mom and she really respected that as well.
"I think if SC had offered earlier or recruited him a little differently, he probably would have went there but I think Omar just felt like he was needed and more of a priority at ASU. That was the bottom line for him, he wanted to go where he felt the staff really wanted him and ASU did a great job recruiting him and I know Omar respected that."
