Bold predictions for Herman era at Texas
Texas introduced new head coach Tom Herman at a press conference Sunday morning. Now that the hire of the former Houston coach is official, here is a stab at some bold predictions for Herman's tenure in Austin.

1. Texas will win a Big 12 title in the next two years
Yes, this sounds insane inheriting a roster that lost to Kansas, but there is young talent in this program and a very talented quarterback in Shane Buechele. Plus, the Big 12 isn't loaded with power programs. Oklahoma is clearly the best team followed by Oklahoma State, but after that?
2. The Longhorns will land a big fish in the 2017 recruiting class
Herman will land one of the big dogs in state. There are four five-stars from Texas. Baron Browning seems gone, as does Jeffrey Okudah, but Walker Little and maybe even Marvin Wilson will be interested. If he doesn't close on a five-star, it will be a high four-star that wasn't looking hard at Texas before the hire.
3. Texas will sign a top-10 class this decade
In his first two or three classes, excluding 2017, Herman will land at least one and possibly two top-10 classes. Charlie Strong landed one with the help of the Baylor debacle and Herman should have enough in-state success to surpass that.
4. The Longhorn offense will pile up the points
Texas will lead the Big 12 in offense, not a small task, within Herman's first three years of employment. And yes, he will last longer than Strong before you mention his short tenure.
5. Kyle Allen will stay put
The former five-star quarterback will not follow his old coach to Texas. This is a gut feeling only as there are rumors out there that Allen wants to follow through on his wish to play for Herman since his transfer from A&M to the Cougars. Houston will hire an offensive coach and Allen will succeed there.
