Boateng thinking about official visits

Kofi Boateng says that his summer has come to a bit of a lull. The 6-foot-1 and 177-pound Boateng from Arlington (Texas) Lamar was recently quoted as having a top three schools. Boateng says that's half-right. The three schools he's considering the most right now are the three schools that are also recruiting him the hardest.

"That's yes and no," Boateng said. "Those are the three schools that are pursuing me the most right now. Those three schools are Ole Miss, Arkansas and Washington. I took summer visits to Ole Miss and Arkansas.

"I had been trying to visit Washington all summer, but it most likely will be an official visit. I have been talking to the Washington wide receiver coach about taking a visit there. I am kind of in-between things now with seven-on-seven and taking those visit."

It's above 100-degrees now in Texas, but Boateng says that he can't wait to get back out there on the field. He knows that this will be one last chance for him and his team to capture a district title and go as far as they possibly can in the playoffs this fall.

"It's my last time to play football with a lot of my friends. I want us to go perfect in district and ride it as far as we can take it into state. I had a breakout year last year and I want to make all-district again this year as a senior. I don't have any personal goals like catches or yards or anything like that. If my team isn't winning I won't be happy."

The difficult task this fall for Boateng beyond trying to help Lamar win all the games on their district schedule is fitting in official visits and balancing recruiting. There are three visits to those schools that are recruiting Boateng the hardest now that he is penciling in. There are a number of schools that are in consideration for getting an official visit from Boateng.

"More than likely I will take all five official visits," Boateng said. "I am not sure when I will go (on official visits). Most likely I will take them during the season and I will likely take visits to Ole Miss, Arkansas and Washington.

"The last two official visits I am not sure about. I have been talking to Arizona State a little bit lately. I would say that I am also considering Wisconsin, Kansas State, UCF, and Vanderbilt are all schools I am considering for those final spots."
