Bluegrass WR receives first offer

Paducah (Ky.) Tilghman wide receiver Curtis Hamilton has picked up his first scholarship offer.
“I went down to Vandy’s one-day camp and worked out for them,” he said. “Coach Hall, their wide receiver coach, had me run for him. I ran a 4.46 and afterward they offered.

“I was real happy to get my first one. I was wondering when it was going to come.”
Hamilton (6-1, 170, 4.45) is one of the Bluegrass State’s top receiver prospects. As a junior, he hauled in 61 receptions for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns.
In addition to the Commodores, he’s also receiving interest from Kentucky, Arkansas, Virginia, Florida, Ole Miss and Colorado.
“My top school right now is probably Arkansas because my cousin, George Wilson, plays there,” he said. “But I like Kentucky, too. I’m hoping to go down there and work out for them sometime this summer. I’m going to try to go there and maybe Virginia if I can.
“Vandy is a great school with great academics. You have to pay attention to that. It’s close to home and my family, too. My mom and grandma like it a lot. They think I should go there. I had an uncle who went there, and he’s a doctor now, so we hear about how good the school is.”
Asked what he’s looking for in a school, Hamilton said: “Just somewhere I can have an opportunity to play and they pass the ball a lot.”
Academically, Hamilton maintains a 3.3 GPA and has scored a 20 on his ACT. He projects as a full-qualifier.
