Blue talks offers, interest

MIAMI, Fla. - Amongst the linebackers that participated at the Miami Nike Football Training Camp was Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca Raton's Jawand Blue. The 6-foot, 195-pound linebacker enjoyed the competition amongst his position group and against some of the offensive skill position players.
"It was a great opportunity to play against a lot of competition and a lot of great skill guys as well," Blue said. "It was a very good experience. It was good to see how other linebackers performed and how they use their techniques. It was a learning experience, me learning from them and them possibly learning from me."

At this point, Blue has landed a trio of offers from Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, and East Carolina. He talked about each of the schools that have extended an offer.
"Virginia Tech always has a great defense and is always winning games, ACC titles, they have great tradition and great coaches," Blue said. "Ole Miss always puts guys into the NFL. They have had some recent success. ECU, I don't know much about them at this point. I think it is a good program though."
Blue mentioned that he hopes to visit the University of Florida in the near future and the University of Miami in the coming months for a one-day camp. He said other visits are also a possibility.
With regards to the Gators, he feels they are very interested in him and an offer may come soon.
"Florida wants me to come up there so they can meet me in person," Blue said. "I guess they will offer me after they meet me in person."
If Florida was to extend an offer after meeting him, Blue said a commitment to the Gators could come about.
"Every year big things come out of Florida. They produce a lot of NFL players," Blue said. "If they offered me, I would probably take that and run with it."
Other schools showing strong interest in Blue are Wisconsin and West Virginia. He believes the Badgers may extend an offer this week.
