Winning the JUCO national championship, schools have begun tapping into Blinn (Texas) Junior College over the past few weeks.
Most notably, Utah, Memphis, Houston and SMU are picking over the Buccanneer talent.
The most coveted recruit is defensive end Alex Cook (6-3, 225-pounds), who has offers from the likes of Louisville, UTEP, Oklahoma State, Southern Mississippi and Arkansas. Tennessee is also pursuing Cook.
"He's a tremendous athlete," Blinn coach Brad Franchione said. "For his size, he has tremendous athletic ability and speed, and will make a great Division I addition."
Alfonso Jackson ((5-10, 190-pounds) of Hearne, Texas, has offers from SMU, New Mexico State and Memphis. He is considered a short safety prospect.
Utah has offered defensive backs Ryan Mouton (5-10, 180-pounds) and Leandre Walner (6-1, 220-pounds), while Memphis is nearing offers on both.
Houston has offered giant offensive lineman Jake Johnson, who stands 6-7, 360-pounds, while Duke is nearing on quarterback Brad Guidry (6-7, 230-pounds).
"Brad is the best kept secret in the country right now," Franchionne said.
