Blankenship focusing on football first

Tulsa (Okla.) Union defensive end Adam Blankenship has helped lead his team to an unbeaten record and a top ranking in the Sooner State.
"We're playing well," the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Blankenship said. "We've got a few more games to go before we get to our goal. I really am not focusing too much on recruiting until our season is over."

Blankenship hasn't lined up any official visits, but has an idea of when he may looking to travel to his top schools.
"I'm probably looking at January for my visits," he said. "I'm not saying I won't for sure visit in December, but it depends on how late our season goes. Hopefully we play for several more weeks here and I can't get anything done until January."
The three-star rated Blankenship has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Missouri, Baylor, Tulsa, Kansas, Colorado State, Utah and Wyoming.
"Most of the schools call me each week," he said. "I enjoy visiting with them. They ask about our season and we talk about their team and how things look if I were to come there. That type of stuff. It is nice to have the chance to talk to them."
Blankenship's brother plays at Tulsa.
"I go to every Tulsa game," he said. "We watch my brother play, so I am very familiar with the team, the school and the program."
