Blackwell getting attention of his own

While wide receiver Omarius Hines is getting scholarship offers on a regular basis and constant attention, he's not the only Division I prospect in Corsicana, Texas.
Offensive guard Andrew Blackwell, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound Corsicana prospect does the blocking for skill players like Hines. While he's waiting on his first offer to come, the mail is piling up and Blackwell is just enjoying the ride.

"It's just a lot of mail, taking college visits, and all of that right now," Blackwell said. "I've visited Texas A&M so far. I plan on visiting Texas Tech, SMU, and possibly TCU as well."
Blackwell says that though he's listed by some as an offensive guard, he's got experience all along the offensive line and even on defense.
"My sophomore year I was at guard, then I went to tackle, and I even played some center this past season," Blackwell said. "Next year they're moving me to the defensive line. It doesn't matter to me (where I play in college)."
At A&M, Blackwell says that he didn't find out about a specific offer. However, he did learn more about the program in College Station.
"They basically just talked to us about what level of strength we need to be at when we get to the college level, the tradition, and basically told us that they were looking for a lot of offensive linemen this year," Blackwell said.
As for when he'd like to commit, Blackwell says that he will take his time no matter how quickly the offers come.
"When I start getting offers, I'm not just going to commit to the first school," he said. "I'll wait and look around to see what my offers are and decide from there."
