Blacklock looking for first offer

Houston Cy Falls started its season a week later than most other schools across the state of Texas but it was worth the wait for the Golden Eagles. On Thursday night they dominated in every facet on the way to a 48-12 victory over Katy Morton Ranch.
One of the standouts for Cy Falls on the evening was defensive end Dave Blacklock. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound senior was constantly in the backfield and tallied a sack for a big loss. Coming off a big junior campaign as well, he is receiving interest from quite a few programs.

"I don't have any offers just yet," Blacklock said, "but a lot of schools are showing me a lot of attention. There are a lot of schools I've been hearing from. I have boxes of letters at home."
Blacklock has had a chance to make trips to a pair of in-state campuses.
"I went to visit Texas State and Texas Tech," he said. "Neither one of them said anything about a possible offer just yet but I liked both places a lot."
Though he is a standout defensive lineman for Cy Falls, Blacklock is likely to switch positions in college. It will be a return to a spot he played prior to moving to Houston.
"They all want me as a linebacker," he said. "They think I fit in better there, which makes sense. I played it back when I was in Washington.
"I was born here but I moved to Washington. I went to Federal Way High School. I played running back and linebacker up there."
Blacklock admits that a couple of schools have piqued his interest so far.
"Oregon, I want to go there," he said. "I also like Ohio State. I've been hearing from Ohio State but not Oregon."
Blacklock was a second-team all-district selection as a junior after tallying 12 sacks and 20 tackles for loss.
