Black makes Big 12 commitment

Defensive tackle Jerrod Black of Houston (Texas) Cypress Falls didn't feel like waiting around any longer and has delivered a commitment to a Big 12 school.
The 6-foot-2, 280-pounder recently gave the coaches at Iowa State a call and gave them some big news on the recruiting front. Black says that this should be his final decision when it comes to the recruiting process.

"I made a commitment to Iowa State yesterday," Black said. "I was kind of tired of waiting to see what would happen with Texas A&M. Coach Gene Chizik, I talked with him and the defensive line coach yesterday.
"They've got a great coaching staff at ISU. I'm going to go up there on Friday for my visit and I'm very excited about that."
Black says that his commitment doesn't mean he wasn't interested in Texas A&M, but he had to go with what he felt the strongest about.
"Texas A&M, I still love A&M, but I felt that ISU was just the better place for me," Black said. "They said I could get as much playing time as I want depending on if I redshirt or not."
Black didn't rule out another visit. However, at this point, he doesn't know where that would be if he did in fact choose to take a trip.
"I might take one more visit, I just don't know where," Black said. "It would be one spot for me if a school comes on late. I'm solid right now."
