Bishop Amat OL has big future

One of the reason that La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat has a an excellent chance to be successful this season is because of offensive tackle Jose Rodriguez (6-6, 250, 5.4).
Rodriguez has the bloodlines his older brother is Kansas red shirt frosh offensive lineman Cesar Rodriguez.

The younger Rodriguez who is going into his senior season decided to put his recruitment to an end earlier this year.
“I really liked what I saw when we as a family drove to Lawrence to help move my brother in,” Rodriguez said. “The coaches really impressed me with the way they bonded with the players.”
The Jayhawks are led by head coach Mark Mangino. Mangino was recruiting coordinator for both Kansas State and Oklahoma. While at OU Mangino was assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.
Needless to say Mangino knows talent and has an uncanny skill to project players.
It says a mouthful about Rodriguez that the Jayhawks offered him an early scholie to him.
The Jayhawks landed a player with a very high ceiling. Rodriguez has his best football ahead of him. He has a real lanky frame that could see him add another 40 pounds without losing any quickness or speed.
The scouting report on Rodriguez is he has great quickness and he explodes off the ball. He has excellent blocking techniques and uses his hands extremely well.
Rodriguez will be a two-year starter for one of the region’s best programs.
Rodriguez committed to KU in June. Before he committed to the Jayhawks he was getting recruiting attention from Oregon State, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado State, UTEP, Utah State and Idaho State.
