Bisharat talks Oregon offer

Beau Bisharat landed a major offer Tuesday night from Oregon and now the Carmichael (Calif.) Jesuit four-star athlete has some thinking to do.
He has some major connections to the program since his father played for the Ducks and he knows assistant coach Don Pellum well so Oregon has clearly emerged as a serious contender in his recruitment.

"On my spring break I was up there and my dad played there," Bisharat said.
"The guy who is recruiting me, coach Pellum, is a good friend with my dad. It wasn't too sudden. I knew they were really interested in me and they wanted to come see me practice. Coach Pellum came down. I wasn't really expecting it but I knew it could be coming soon.
"It's obviously cool that my dad went there but at the end of the day it's my decision. My dad respects that. He has no problem wherever I go. He'll support me but it's definitely big."
The 6-foot-3, 203-pound prospect said he was in the early stages of narrowing down his list and possibly making a commitment but the Oregon offer does change things. He's still waiting for an offer from one more school - he won't say which one - and then the decision-making process could start.
"I was thinking about starting to make a decision and now it's really starting to pick up again so I want to take it all in," Bisharat said. "I don't know how many more offers I'll get. There are no offers that I don't have that I really want. This and one other school are the last two that I really do want so I'm waiting on one more.
"Just about Oregon in general, I love to fish and hunt. That's a big plus. I like the rain, too. The facilities are ridiculous. I like coach Pellum. I think he's a good guy and he has a good heart. I think it's awesome he's friends with my dad because he will check up on me and be in close contact with my dad. That's awesome."
The Carmichael Jesuit standout said he's only had limited communication with Oregon coach Mark Helfrich but he suspects that could change soon.
"I haven't really talked much with coach Helfrich," Bisharat said. "He came and visited me once and we talked a little bit. I'm excited to go forward with this and get to know everybody up there."
