Birdine adds Big 12 offer

Lawton (Okla.) Eisenhower defensive end Larry Birdine added a new scholarship offer on Monday, but according to his coach he has yet to accept the newest offer.
"Oklahoma offered him on Monday," Eisenhower coach Bill Whiteley said.

"I talked with Larry tonight and he wasn't ready to commit yet. But I don't know if he did anything tonight or not."
Repeated calls to the Birdine household produced zero results. At 10:30 p.m., the family answering machine finally clicked on after his mother had said to keep trying back.
When asked if they had heard anything about Birdine possibly making a decision, his mother said that would be news to her.
"I would hope he would tell us if he did anything," she said. "But no, he's not said a thing about it."
Whiteley said the offer from Oklahoma is very tempting to Birdine, but so are his offers from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Missouri and Colorado.
"He told me at school this afternoon that he was going to wait a while and then do some evaluations of the schools," Whiteley said. "So, if he did do anything it would catch me off guard."
