Biloxi end wants attention

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-Hurricane Katrina cost Biloxi (Miss.) defensive end Mario Foster more than half of his football season, a shot at being successful and perhaps attention from major college programs.
"It hurt us real bad," Foster said. "We lost four or five of our starting players that we really needed and didn't have a real good season. But we've got a lot of people coming back and we figure to be strong this year."

The 6-foot-4, 231-pounder tallied eight sacks during a shortened 2005 season. Not playing a lot last year has Foster currently flying under the radar in terms of being recruited.
"I haven't been recruited yet," Foster, a native of Boston, said. "I did a real good job last year."
Foster attended the Rivals.com Junior Day at Hattiesburg, Miss., last Saturday.
"I learned different ways about how to be recruited," he said. "I also learned that you have to watch your grades. You have to maintain a certain core grade point average and all that. I learned a lot."
Foster added that he plans to take another unofficial visit to Southern Mississippi when the Golden Eagles have a scrimmage and would prefer to stay in-state to play college football.
"I like Mississippi State, Ole Miss, any school in Mississippi," Foster said.
Foster does field events for his school's track team and plays basketball.
