Big year gets NC receiver interest

Winston-Salem (N.C.) R.J. Reynolds wide receiver Jake Gainey had a huge year as a junior. The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder posted 50 receptions for 1,300-yards and 21 touchdowns. The big year has resulted in interest from a number of teams early.
"I've been getting letters from North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, Clemson and East Carolina," he said. "I've visited East Carolina and Wake Forest already and they were good."

Does Gainey like anybody early on?
"I'm thinking about NC State a lot," he stated. "It's a good environment and I like Coach O'Brien."
With interest growing, Gainey is looking for one big thing in a college?
"I just want to get an education, but I haven't made up my mind what I want to study yet."
Last season Gainey earned all-Northwestern and offensive player of the year for the conference as a junior.
Also a talented track athlete, Gainey went to the regionals for the 100 meter and states for the relay.
