Big year for 2015 RB Jones

Football players strive for perfection no matter how unattainable it is. Based on the numbers in his junior season, Columbus (Ind.) East 2015 running back Markell Jones came close.
Columbus East finished the 2014 season as the Class 4A state champion and posted a perfect 15-0 record. The 5-foot-9, 201-pound Jones was a huge factor in that success, carrying 251 times for 2,645 yards and 42 touchdowns.

Jones now heads into the off-season looking to turn that production into scholarship offers.
"I am going to make a complete season tape," Jones said. "It will be pretty good, I think, and I'll get that in the hands of the right people."
Toledo has already extended an offer to Jones, and he received some positive feedback whole on in-season game visits to Auburn, Indiana, Louisville and Purdue.
"At Louisville I talked with the recruiting coordinator for a little bit and he was a nice guy," Jones said. "The week before I had been down there for an academic visit. I liked the campus, like the team and they are going to switch to the ACC, so that is exciting.
"I talked a lot with Purdue Coach [Kevin] Maurice. He said to get back down there after the season is over and meet the coaches a little bit more. Coach Maurice speaks highly of me and I need to get down there."
Jones plans to finish up his 2013 season visits by attending Cincinnati's home finale against Louisville on Thursday.
