Big WR lands first BCS offer

Camp Hill (Pa.) Trinity wide receiver Christian Kuntz picked up his first BCS offer over the weekend. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder landed the scholarship from the Big East.
"I have three offers," he said. "I got one from Buffalo in late May or early June, Akron after Pittsburgh's camp and then Connecticut yesterday at camp," he said. "I love the Connecticut offer and everything about it. They are great up there and out of all the places I've been to they are the most warm and inviting. The facilities are out of this world. I've never seen facilities like that.

"I think the coaches liked how tall I was and fast I am. I had good feet according to Coach Edsall."
Kuntz believes Pittsburgh may offer next.
"They seem like they are about to offer," he stated. "The coaches had me do extra drills there. They told me they may have to see a few more games and look closer. But they were impressed with my footwork and range. They are looking at me as a safety."
Does Kuntz like anybody?
"My dad went to college and played at Maryland," he said. "I've always had a thing for Maryland and grew up watching Notre Dame a lot too. Right now out of all the schools recruiting me though, UConn is on top.
"I am hearing from them Notre Dame and Maryland. I'm looking at heading to a few more camps, Penn State Tuesday, Maryland Thursday, Virginia next Monday and Notre Dame at the end of June. They are all recruiting me heavily."
Kuntz is also a talented track athlete that placed second in the state in the hurdles as a junior.
As for a decision, the Keystone State prospect could get it done relatively soon.
"I talked about that with my dad the other day," he said. "We've got to see what happens in June, but I think I want to bring it down to a top three or five and then decide before the season."
