Big WR Has Two Officials Set

Richmond (Va.) Hermitage wide receiver Fontel Mines might only need two official visits before making his decision. He has both of them set now.
"I'm going to Virginia Tech when they host Virginia (Nov. 29 visit weekend) and, even though I haven't told the coaches yet, I'm going to the UVA-NC State game (Nov. 15 visit weekend)," said the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder. "Those are the only two visits I've set right now and probably the only two I'll need."

Mines, who scored 10 touchdowns as a junior and has offers from both in-state schools, has a slight preference.
"I like UVA a little better because of the way they throw the ball," he said. "Tech is a great program and they look like they'll fight for the national title this year so I'm staying open. They don't throw as much, but they win."
Mines originally wanted to decide by the end of September.
"I need to see both schools on officials so I can meet the players and see the whole thing," he said. "I'm looking for a place where I feel comfortable."
