Big weekend for Sweeney

It was an eventful weekend for Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West quarterback Beau Sweeney. The talented signal caller took part in both the Elite 11 workout at Cal on Friday and the NIKE Camp at Stanford on Saturday and after a solid showing at both events, Sweeney has four new offers on the table.
Sweeney is one of the top quarterbacks in the region and proved it this past weekend. He has a live, accurate arm, good feet and is very consistent.

The quarterback started off a little slow on Friday but his arm looked stronger as the Elite 11 workout went on and then on Saturday, he really shined.
"I thought I did OK on Friday but was happy with my overall performance at the NIKE Camp Saturday. I threw a lot of balls all week so my arm was a little tired on Friday but I felt good Saturday and felt I had more zip on my passes and was just more consistent."
Sweeney's workout on Friday was impressive to land the first of his four new offers this past weekend.
"After the Elite 11, I got a text message from Colorado saying they were impressed with how I did and were offering me a scholarship," Sweeney said. "I called back Coach Hawkins and he said they liked me and wanted to get me out there for a visit.
"After the NIKE camp Saturday, I got similar calls from Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona and all three of those schools offered me as well. I was really excited and have interest in all four schools right now.
"I'm planning to make my decision in the next month and want to take unofficial visits to Colorado, Oregon and Oregon State before I do so. I've already been to Cal, Arizona and Arizona State, those are my other offers right now.
"I just want to relax this summer and focus on my team and our upcoming season so that's why I want to commit so soon. After I take these unofficial visits, I think I'll have enough information to make my choice.
"Right now, I'm leaning to Cal, Oregon State and ASU but I'm going to take these visits with an open mind and see where I think I'll fit in the best."
