Big weekend for Oklahoma QB

This weekend was a big one for Lawton (Okla.) Eisenhower quarterback Chris Stutzriem. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder impressed on Saturday at the Elite 11 regional workout in Las Vegas and then he traveled to Wyoming where he made up his mind as to where he's going to play in college.
"It was a pretty big weekend for sure," Stutzriem, an all-area pick as a junior, said. "After I left Vegas, I went to Wyoming and really loved the place. It was a good fit for me. They basically run the same stuff that we do in high school.

"I decided to go ahead and commit. I'm really pleased with the decision."
Stutzriem was also offered by Tulsa and SMU and was getting interest from Texas Tech. He was recruited assistant coach and Cowboy ace recruiter Bryan Applewhite.
"Coach Applewhite is a great guy," Stutzriem said. "I really liked talking to him and getting to spend time with him. I also was really sold on the quarterback situation at Wyoming. I have a shot to come in and compete for a spot quickly.
"I also now get to focus on my senior season and not have to worry about what my future is going to be. All of those things made a big impact in my decision. It's a real load off my back."
