Big weekend for Davison

It is a big Friday night for Encino (Calif.) Crespi and especially defensive end Raymond Davison because the team visits Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake but also because someone important will be on the sidelines.
Davison, a 6-foot-2, 218-pound prospect who's quickly picking up offers, said a coach from Cal is supposed to attend the game and this is his opportunity to impress the Golden Bears' staff in person.

"I think the Cal coach is going to be there to watch the game and I think if I play well there is a good chance I can get offered," Davison said.
An offer from Cal would be important to Davison, who said it's one of his favorite schools and there is reason to believe he'd strongly consider a commitment.
Former Encino Crespi wide receiver Chris Harper plays for the Golden Bears and safety Brandon Arnold has Cal and Michigan State as his top two.
There is no guarantee an offer is coming but Davison is hopeful if he plays well Friday night and continues his strong performances through his senior season then Cal could get more involved.
"It's definitely bigger with them there," Davison said.
"I've been talking to them. They added me on Facebook a couple weeks ago. Chris Harper has been talking to them about me and our safety (Arnold) has already been offered by Cal so they're going to come see us play.
"Cal is definitely really high on my list right now. They're definitely one of the schools I'm looking for so if they offer they'll definitely be in the mix."
So far, Davison has offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Iowa State, Navy, Nevada, San Diego State and Wyoming. No official visits have been scheduled at this point in his recruitment.
