Big week for Cali TE

It's a fairly deep year for tight ends out West this year and one player who has seen his stock take off in the last week is Poway's (Calif.) Ryan Deehan. Deehan picked up five offers in the last week including two more earlier today.
Deehan, 6-5, 215 pounds is a very impressive player on film and has a nice upside to him. He has a great frame and is a big target going over the middle. He still has some filling out to do but has the frame to easily pack on the pounds in college.

Deehan has excellent hands and catches the ball away from his body. He runs well and can make plays down the field. He shows toughness as well and will take a hit and make positive yards after contact.
As a junior, Deehan caught 52 balls for 850 yards and five touchdowns to earn all-league and 2nd team all-state underclass honors last year.
On the recruiting front, Deehan is up to five offers, all of which he receive in the last week.
"San Diego State was my first offer, they offered last Wednesday," Deehan said. "Cal, Texas A&M, Colorado and Arizona State have all offered as well with Colorado and ASU offering this morning.
"I'm also hearing from USC, UCLA, Washington and Stanford. USC will be coming by the school tomorrow and Washington will be by next week.
"I don't have a leader but the schools I'm most interested in would be UCLA, USC, Cal, ASU, Washington, Texas A&M and Colorado. I'm going to try and camp with Cal, ASU and USC and will take some unofficial visits this summer as well although I'm not sure where yet.
"I took an unofficial visit to UCLA already and they have my film but I haven't heard from them in a while. Right now, my plan is to wait things out and see who else offers me. Then I'll narrow my list down accordingly and take some official visits during the season.
"I want to make sure I see all of these schools before I make a commitment. I'm looking for a winning program, with strong academics. I want to major in Business or Engineering so that will play a role. I'm also looking at depth charts and the type of offense the team runs and if I will be a good fit or not."
We'll have a chance to see Deehan in action at the NorCal NIKE Camp at Stanford May 19.
