Big week for 2016 WR Bracey

Spring break has been a busy time for Scott Bracey. The Richmond (Va.) Benedictine School star added an offer from Florida State and visited three North Carolina schools.

"I called coach Sal at Florida State and he let me know about the offer," said the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Bracey. "Right now they're big time. They went undefeated and won the national championship. They have the Heisman trophy winner and he's coming back this year so they should be good again. Today was the first time I talked to any Florida State coaches but I think our relationship will build from here. I'm a big fan of Jameis Winston so I was following them a lot this season."

Duke, N.C. State and Wake Forest hosted Bracey Tuesday through Thursday of last week.

"Duke is a great school, especially from an academic perspective," he said. "Coach Cutcliffe is really looking forward to big things. Ten wins is a great season but he believes they can win the ACC championship. He's a really down to earth guy and likes talking. I liked that a lot.

"N.C. State was really nice," Bracey said. "I know they have some recruits that go down there a lot and I can see why. Their facilities are nicer than I expected. I got to talk to coach Doeren and he's a great guy. He's really building that program. 70 percent of their roster is freshmen and sophomores and that shocked me. They should be big in the next two years.

"I wanted to check out the facilities at Wake Forest and watch a practice to see how things are run," he said. "I know they are an academically prestigious school and I wanted to check that out."

Recruitment has slowed a little for Bracey but he thinks it will get busier now that the evaluation period has started.

"I'm not really talking to many coaches right now but I think it will pick back up now that coaches will start coming by the school again," said Bracey.

Bracey currently has more than 20 offers from schools like Michigan, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee and others.
