Big week coming for Alston

This is a big week for Lavan Alston.
The four-star wide receiver from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure is camping at UCLA on Wednesday and then USC on Thursday in hopes of landing offers from both Pac-12 powers.

"I haven't been to any camps recently but I'll be going to UCLA and USC," Alston said. "They've been talking to me a lot and they want me to go to their camps so I'm going.
"Hopefully I do well and I can receive an offer from those guys."
Alston, rated as the No. 30 wide receiver in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, said he knows a lot about both local programs. He's followed UCLA and USC closely for years and it especially helps that the Trojans have recruited St. Bonaventure well in recent classes.
Last recruiting cycle, tight end Bryce Dixon committed to USC and 2015 quarterback Ricky Town has pledged to the Trojans as well.
"With UCLA, I know they put a receiver in the pros last year," Alston said. "They have really good receivers and I know their receivers coach was in the NFL as well.
"With them and USC I've known them for a while. I've been around that staff for a while with Bryce and Ricky Town going to my school so those would be pretty big offers."
One school that has offered and definitely stands out so far is Oregon State. Alston recently visited Corvallis and then attended the Beavers' satellite camp in Los Angeles. An offer from USC or UCLA would be big but would not guarantee he would end up at either school.
"It's always cool to have your teammates play with you not only in high school but in college as well especially your quarterback because you already have chemistry," Alston said. "I need to get offered first before I can start thinking about all that stuff anyway.
"I like Oregon State a lot right now. It's a great coaching staff. I went to their camp in L.A. and it was pretty cool."
