Big visit coming up for four-star OL Chris Murray
TORRANCE, Calif. - Chris Murray is one of the best offensive guards in the 2018 class and this weekend he’s taking an important visit.
The four-star from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei is heading to Notre Dame to see the Irish take on USC. Murray is expected to be joined by teammates Amon-Ra St. Brown, a five-star receiver, and four-star linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu.
“I’m very interested in them,” Murray said of the Irish. “I’ve never been to Notre Dame at all so I’m very excited to see the place and see how it is.”
No other official visits are planned at this point but Murray, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect, is expected to take some before making a decision.
The Mater Dei standout recently visited Utah and had a good time on that trip. The Utes should also stay high on his list because they were the first team to offer - and Murray is not going to easily forget that as he works through his recruitment.
“I liked Utah a lot,” Murray said.
“The love when I got out there, they showed me a lot. I had a good time with (offensive line) coach (Jim) Harding and I got a lot of time with the head coach so I just appreciated that.”
Other than his visits to Utah and Notre Dame, Murray has said in the past that Stanford will also receive an official visit. More could happen, too, but the four-star offensive guard has not finalized anything yet.
The Mater Dei recruit said he still plans to commit at the Army game.
