Position: Wide receiver
Size and speed: Dwayne has NFL size at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds. He is super-fast and has run the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds. He also has a 38-inch vertical jump.
Honors: All-state all-groups, all-county, all-league
Statistics: Last season Dwayne had 40 catches for 956 yards with 17 touchdowns. As a defensive back he had 24 solo tackles and six interceptions returning two of them for touchdowns.
Favorite schools: Jarrett is listing Michigan and Pittsburgh as his early leaders, but he's also interested in Rutgers, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia for now.
Skinny: Jarrett is a top player in New Jersey and will be considered one of the top receivers in the land. With his size and speed he drives opposing defenses crazy. Not only does Dwayne have an NFL frame, but he also has the hands to go along with it. With offers already from Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Rutgers and Connecticut, expect him to have more than a dozen by the end of May.
“I’m looking forward the recruiting process. I hope to have my schools narrowed down to six or seven before the season begins. I want to take all five of my official visits before I decide on anything.”
This summer Jarrett will be camping at Michigan and Pittsburgh for sure and hopes to get to a few others schools as well -- if not for camp at least for an unofficial visit.
“I really want to visit a few schools over the summer to get an idea of what to expect. I was at the Rutgers Junior Day and I really like it there. Coach Schiano is a guy that I could play for.”
Not only is Dwayne a blue-chip football prospect, but he is also drawing attention for his skills on the basketball court. With a 18.8 points-per-game average, Dwayne hopes to lead New Brunswick to a third straight state championship. He has hoops interest from Rutgers, Virginia and a few other D-1 schools.
