Position: Offensive tackle
Size and Speed: Wimbs is 6-foot-5 and 309 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 5.1 and with his 3.0 grade point average; he shouldn't have any problems qualifying.
Honors: Wimbs was selected to the all-county team as a junior.
Statistics: Wimbs recorded a total of 55 pancake blocks as a junior.
Favorites: Wimbs lists Miami as his early favorite followed by North Carolina State, Syracuse and Florida State.
Skinny: Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely is the home of one of the most physical offensive lineman in South. Cyrim Wimbs is an offensive tackle, who is already catching the attention at a recent Nike camp from his childhood favorite. Many other schools have noticed him also.
“At the Nike camp Miami coaches came up to our coaches and said that I have great speed and quick feet,” Wimbs said. “The Miami coaches also said that they want Andrew and me as soon as possible.”
Miami and North Carolina State have extended him a verbal offer, so what’s next for this lineman who has a great combination of size and speed?
“Miami is my team, and when I get a qualifying test score there’s a strong possibly that I’ll commit to them,” Wimbs said. “On June 8th, I set to take the test again.” I want to make a decision early so I don’t have to worry about it during the season.”
This summer, Wimbs will attend the Down & Dirty camp and the Miami football camp.
He’s also considering North Carolina State, Syracuse and Florida State.
