Linebacker Keith Maguire has been one of the hottest recruits in the Mid-Atlantic over the last couple months. Now that the Malvern (Pa.) Malvern Prep star has pulled in his fair share of offers he is starting to focus in on schools like Alabama, Texas A&M, Clemson, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"Ohio State's coaching staff has been really good talking to me so far," Maguire said. "I've been talking to a bunch of different coaches on the staff. Being in the Big Ten, that's a big time league, especially for a linebacker having to go against some tough running teams. It's definitely a school that'll be looking at along with the four other schools.

"The Notre Dame visit was a ton of fun," he said. "It's a beautiful school and I had a great time. I talked with coach Kelly and coach Lea and it was very worthwhile.

"When you think of Alabama, you think of one of the best teams in college football pretty much since I've been alive," said Maguire. "It's a school that speaks for itself football-wise. Nick Saban is one of the best coaches ever and he proves it every year with his team and recruiting classes. It's definitely a big honor to get an offer from them.

"Texas A&M is a big SEC offer," he said. "It's a little bigger being up north and getting an offer from an SEC team. You know you can play down there when they offer you because they wouldn't go across the country to offer you otherwise.

"Clemson, kind of like Alabama, they have been dominant," Maguire said. "It's a great school and a beautiful campus. I'll be going down next week for their junior day. I'm excited to start to build a relationship with them. They have a great coaching staff.

"I'll be at Clemson next weekend for their junior day, the first weekend in March," he said. "I'm going up to Ohio State on March 23rd to watch a spring practice. I'm just excited to go on these visits and see what these schools are like. I want to get my eyes on them for myself. I'd like to get more comfortable with these schools.

"I'll really start to narrow down my recruiting coming up in the spring," said Maguire. "I'm thinking that it would be pretty unlikely for me to commit in the summer because I want to use my official visits during the fall instead of the spring so I can get to a game and see the atmosphere and what it's like. I'll either commit right before the season or during it."

RIVALS' REACTION…

Even though Maguire didn't expand on his visit to Notre Dame, the way he spoke about his time there makes it seem like it had a big impact. Clemson and Ohio State have laid the groundwork to make his upcoming visits have a lasting impact as well. The offers from Alabama and Texas A&M made a splash with Maguire and they definitely have his attention so it will be important for those schools to capitalize on this momentum if they are going to make him a priority.
