Big Ten school shows interest in NoCal OL

Keep an eye open for offensive lineman Chad Tannenbaum (6-3, 300) from Sacramento (Calif.) Rio Americano. He recently had a good SPARQ combine in Oakland, Calif., ,making the all-combine team
The good news about Tannenbaum is he's not just a combine warrior, but a good football player, too, who earned all-league honors as a junior.

When this fall rolls around, Tannenbaum will enter his third year as a starter on the varsity.
Rio Americano coach Mike Smith had high praise for his talented offensive lineman when asked what makes Tannenbaum a D-I prospect.
"Besides Chad's size and smarts," Smith said. "Chad has very quick feet for a guy his size and tremendous balance.
"I feel there is a correlation with a player's grades and his performance on the field," Smith said. "He's very good in school and he's in student government for a Blue Ribbon school, which means it is a very high level school.
"Chad has a very good work ethic and he's very durable," Smith said. "He hasn't missed a game since he's been there."
That is very impressive when you consider how easy it is to get nicked up in the trenches.
In the weight room Tannenbaum benches 300-pounds plus and he carries a 3.5 GPA at a very demanding school academically.
Northwestern at this time is showing Tannenbaum the most attention on the recruiting trail, but several Pac 10 schools have been by Rio Americano.
