Big Ten school showing interest in Williams

One out-of-state school is showing heavy attention to rising linebacker prospect Mychal Williams.
The Austin Crockett prospect, a 5-foot-11, 202-pounder, recently took a visit to Illinois earlier this month. Williams says that he came back thoroughly impressed with the school and the possibility of playing there at the next level.

"Oh man, it was excellent," Williams said about his Big Ten visit. "They're working on a project with the stadium and it's going to look fantastic. Coach (Vince) Okruch said that they have high interest in me and they need a full senior season game tape and I'll be set."
Crockett says that he is planning more visits in the near future. He says before the summer ends, he'd like to get to Rice and Texas for either unofficial visits or camps. Aside from the schools he has visited and plans on visiting, several others such as Tulsa and TCU have talked about offering as well.
Regardless of the rising interest, Williams is staying very open.
"I'm trying to keep away from favorites," Williams said. "I'm putting them all in one big group and just keeping my options open."
As a junior, Williams totaled 104 tackles, 11 of those for loss, and three sacks.
