Big Ten possible for Penniston

Kyle Penniston already has an offer from Florida State and the 2015 tight end from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei has seen an uptick in his recruitment by Big Ten schools since his strong performance at the Rivals Camp by Under Armour in Los Angeles.
Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin have consistently shown interest in the 6-foot-5, 220-pound recruit and now another Big Ten program is getting in the mix.

"I'm still getting a lot of the same schools," Penniston said. "I've been getting a lot of stuff from the Midwest, schools like Michigan and now Northwestern. I've been talking to the Northwestern coach a lot.
"I'm going out there in May for the Rivals Camp in Chicago and I'm going to visit Northwestern on that trip, too. That will be one of my first visits and then I'm trying to get out there again during the summer to visit Ohio State and Wisconsin.
"I've been talking to coach (Jerry) Brown. He recruits Southern California for Northwestern and then I've been talking to many of the same colleges."
Penniston, who will also attend summer camps at UCLA and USC, said attending a Big Ten school is definitely not a stretch.
The 2015 standout from Santa Ana Mater Dei has family that lives just north of Milwaukee and playing in that conference has always intrigued him so these upcoming visits to those schools could be crucial.
"I've shown interest in those schools," Penniston said.
"I have a lot of family back there so I have a lot of interest in getting back there. Wisconsin has sparked up a little bit along with all the other Big Ten schools. That would definitely be an option for me."
Penniston was arguably the top tight end at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles in recent weeks.
