Big Ten or ACC for CT DE

Norwich (Conn.) Norwich Free Academy defensive end Matt Shaughnessy has made his decision. Will it be a Big Ten school or will he stay closer and head to the ACC?
"I committed to Wisconsin tonight," said the 6-foot-6, 210-pounder. "I had to go with my gut feeling. I know it's far away, but I really liked it out there, I feel good about the coaches and the situation fits me. I think I can play early and hopefully make an impact."

Boston College finished a close second.
"BC has a good situation also, and it's close to home," he said. "But Wisconsin just felt better to me. Something about it, the football, the fans, the academics and everything. I really felt it was best in the end."
UConn and Purdue finished out of the running as well.
"All four programs were great and the coaches were cool," he said. "It was a hard decision."
Shaughnessy is ranked as the No. 28 weakside defensive end in the country.
