Big Ten offer is first for Texas RB

There were several schools pursuing Houston (Texas) Cy Falls all-purpose back Jack Freeman heavily, but the first scholarship offer still surprised the talented young man when it came this past week.
Freeman, a 5-foot-9, 160-pound athlete who has drawn interest from all over, watched Northwestern send him the first offer.

"My coach said it was official and the paper should be coming in soon," Freeman said about the first offer from the Big Ten. "It was kind of a surprise I guess. I guess you could say I wasn't really expecting to be offered this soon, but I'm rolling with it."
There are two other schools that the talented Houston native expects something to happen with soon.
"Well, I was talking to the Missouri coach," Freeman said. "They were processing my stuff, so I'm guessing they'll be next. Nebraska will probably be soon after that."
Freeman also has been taking visits. One of the schools that he has a high interest in, Arkansas, hosted him for a junior day and the spring game.
"I really liked it up there," Freeman said. "Arkansas was already one of my top choices. I'm hoping to get an offer from them in the near future. The coaches I think are going to come down to see me practice."
Freeman says that he'll be at the NIKE Training Camp in College Station, Texas this weekend and some camps this summer.
