With a playoff berth at stake Waco (Texas) Midway's John Hubert answered in the most impressive way. In a playoff-berth clinching victory, the two-star running back led Waco Midway with 224 yards and a career high seven touchdowns.
The victory clinched a playoff berth for Waco Midway from 16-4A.

"I actually didn't really know until after the game (that I had scored seven touchdowns) when one of my coaches came up to me and asked me if I knew how many I had," Hubert said. "I had lost count.".
However, it can't be all happiness and glory now as it is back to business on the gridiron for Waco Midway as they get prepared for Waxahachie on Friday evening.
"For us the last three games have been kind of a playoff so we're used to it and ready to play," he said.
When it comes to recruiting a few big-time schools are starting to take notice.
"I have been talking to Oklahoma State's running backs coach, and he seems really interested," Hubert said. " (OSU) has been calling my high school coach and requesting game film, my transcripts and ACT scores so they can look at up there."
Hubert plans on making a visit to Stillwater at the end of November but wouldn't mind if he had to push back his visit.
"I mean I have an official visit scheduled for like the 26th or something of November, but if we keep winning I'll have to reschedule because I got to be here and get ready with my team," said Hubert.
As for any interest in Oklahoma State and other schools?
"It's something I definitely want to check out," he said. "I know they are pretty good," I mean they are ranked and I know they have a good team, with new facilities and a good academic program.
"Really, like the past two to three weeks a lot of schools have been calling my high school coach and trying to get my number so we can talk. Oklahoma State, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, and Illinois have all been contacting me recently."
