Big offers for McCaffrey

Recruiting is picking up fast for Christian McCaffrey.
The 2014 all-purpose back from Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian picked up offers from Michigan and Oregon on Wednesday and the 6-foot, 190-pound prospect has just returned from a visit to Alabama.

The Michigan offer came as a shock to McCaffrey, who rushed for 1,390 yards and 23 touchdowns in his junior season. This interview was completed before he was offered by Oregon so McCaffrey doesn't talk much about the Ducks.
"It was definitely a surprise," McCaffrey said of the Michigan offer. "It was awesome to get an offer from a school like that since they were showing interest in me. It was really good.
"It's definitely huge to get an offer from a school like that since it has so much winning tradition and not only good on the football field but also in the classroom. It has awesome academics and it's definitely an honor to get a scholarship offer from a school like that."
A trip to Ann Arbor is under serious consideration, one to Oregon is also being planned and McCaffrey said some other unofficial trips could be coming up in the next few months this off-season.
"I'm definitely considering a visit (to Michigan)," McCaffrey said. "It's a school I'm going to show a lot of interest in as well.
"I'm going to try to visit as many schools as I can. For sure I'm going to visit Stanford, I'll probably visit Duke again to see my brother, Notre Dame, Michigan and Oregon. I don't have any order and I don't know when but those schools would be great to visit."
Also in his junior season, McCaffrey led his team in receiving with 55 catches for 675 yards and 14 touchdowns. Rivals.com rates him as a four-star prospect early in his recruitment.
Northwestern, Penn State, Tennessee and Alabama are a few of the other programs that are showing interest in McCaffrey that have not offered yet.
