Big offers arrive for NC athlete

Linebacker Terrell Manning isn't the only prospect out of Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland County collecting offers. His teammate, 5-foot-11, 180-pound athlete Adrian Jones holds five scholarships at this time.
"I've got offers from East Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Clemson and Miami," he said. "It's been a little while since an offer came and I'm still keeping my options open, but the Miami scholarship shocked me. I thought my coach was playing with me. He then told me it was real."

Despite no clear favorites, Jones is a fan of one SEC program.
"I like Auburn a lot," he said. "Their teams recently have been pretty good and if they offer that might change things a bit for me, but we'll have to see.
"I'm looking for playing time and I want to see where schools will play me at. Most are recruiting me as an athlete, but I'd probably like to be a cornerback."
In the near future, Jones is considering attending the Adidas Camp at North Carolina State in May. He's also looking at camps to North Carolina and Clemson.
As a junior, the Tar Heel State prospect posted over 1,800 yards of offense and 11 touchdowns on his way to all-conference honors.
