Big offer comes in for three-star Ramsay

Offers have been steadily trickling in for Marietta (Ga.) Pope offensive guard Grant Ramsay throughout the spring. He has continued to work hard and recently, he picked up another big one.
"I just got that big offer today from Vanderbilt," Ramsay said on Tuesday. "I talked to Coach Caldwell the offensive line coach and he said that they wanted to offer me and then I talked to Coach Cain tonight and he said he wanted me to know that we were officially offering."

Ramsay has had a chance to visit the Nashville, Tenn. campus and his familiarity with the program immediately sparks an interest with him.
"I'm very excited about it," he said. "I'm very interested in that school. Going to their camp, I've been up there twice. It's a great academic school. It's in one of the best conferences in the country. It's definitely on the move as a program and definitely on the rise."
Currently, Ramsay is balancing all of his recruiting attention with spring practice. He has already seen close to 30 schools come through to visit him.
"It feels good to be wanted," he said. "It feels good to be known and I feel like all of this work that I put in is starting to pay off."
The 6-foot-5, 280 pound lineman may be close to offers from Maryland and Indiana to go with his already growing list of Minnesota, East Carolina, FIU, Marshall and Vanderbilt. At this point he isn't naming favorites but hopes to learn more as he sees more programs this summer.
"I'm sitting back and taking it all in and I'm definitely trying to look at schools that are a fit for me," he said. "I'm definitely going to visit a few schools and go to some camps and stuff and I'm also going to be training with my team because that's going to be my top priority."
