Big news arrives for Guidry

Rivals100 defensive tackle Briston Guidry welcomed some big news Thursday afternoon. Thursday was the day he learned the LSU Tigers were extending a scholarship offer.
The offer meant a lot to Guidry for a number of reasons.

"It's close to home, and it's the home team," Guidry said.
The Tigers join an offer list which already includes Arkansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Southern Miss, and Tennessee.
He committed to Mississippi early in the process before re-opening his recruiting process in December. Since re-opening his recruiting process Guidry has been keeping an open mind, but five schools have caught his attention.
"Top 5 in no order: LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Tennessee," Guidry said
As a sophomore, Guidry recorded 73 tackles, 23 TFLs, 11 sacks, an interception and a blocked kick. As a junior, he finished the season with 77 tackles, 9.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a safety. He is also a two-time All-State selection.
Guidry is currently ranked No. 91 in the 2016 Rivals100, No. 11 among the nation's 2016 defensive tackles, and No. 9 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Postseason Top 35.
